So with week one of the NFL season beginning tonight, I thought I would predict the outcomes of this seasons Packer schedule. You are reading part one, which will take you through the first 8 games of the season. I will also give commentary on each game.

Week 1

Packers-23 Eagles-20

The young Packers will come out firing on all cylinders, and jump out to an early lead. The Eagles will come back and tie the game with under 2 minutes remaining. Brett will then show the young guys how a 2-minute drill works by leading the team down for the game winning 44 yard field goal.

Week 2

Packers - 28 Giants- 31

Favre will have his first 4 touchdown game of the season, but it won’t be enough to top the little Manning. Brett will throw for 330 yards as the rushing offense continues to falter.

Week 3

Packers - 10 Chargers- 27

Being the first regular season gold package game, there won’t be a lot of emotion in the stadium. The Chargers will start fast, and Tomlinson will rush for 130 yards and 2 TDs as his team dominates an awestruck Packers squad. There is a reason LT is the best running back currently in the NFL. Following this game, Green Bay media and fans will start with the “trade Brett” and “fire McCarthy” talk. It will continue each week, win or lose, from here on out.

Week 4

Packers - 17 Vikings - 9

The Packers Defense will get a boost by holding the flatulent Vikings offense to 3 field goals. Vikings fans will begin to wish for the days when the offense was great but the defense was terrible, rather than the other way around. Donald Driver will injure an ankle in the second quarter and be replaced by James Jones, who will catch 6 balls for 110 yards and a touchdown.

Week 5

Packers - 3 Bears - 17

Greg Jennings and Ruvell Martin will both drop touchdown passes, as the Packers submit to the new “team to beat” in the NFC North. Rex Grossman will try to help the Packers cause by throwing 3 interceptions and fumbling once, but the Packers will be unable to capitalize.

Week 6

Packers - 38 Redskins - 21

The recently reprimanded receiving corps will make up for the poor performance against Chicago, and the running game will get it’s first 100 yard rusher of the season as Vernand Morency runs for 101 yards and a touchdown. Favre will have his second 4 TD game, throwing 2 to Greg Jennings and one each to Martin and Jones.

Week 7

Bye week

During the bye, some banged up players will get healthy, and the “is this Brett’s last year” stories will begin in the national media. Driver will announce he is ready to return, and Jones will again be placed as the third wide receiver.

Week 8

Packers - 7 Broncos - 10

All out rushing attacks by both teams to to near monsoon conditions, leave the Pack holding the short end of the stick. Brandon Jackson gets most of the carries in the second half due to a tweaked ankle by Morency, and performs decent given the conditions rushing for 72 yards and the team’s only score.

Week 9

Packers - 30 Chiefs - 20

The team appears to be in perfect form as Jackson Rushes for 138 yards and two TDs, and Favre throws for 265 yards and one score. The defense registers 5 sacks, 2 interceptions and a fumble recovery in its best performance since Chicago. The team gets back to .500, and fans start talking playoffs based on the performance of this game.

So there is my prediction for the first half of the 2007 season, come back tomorrow for part 2 and see how the team will end up.

Kurt, 4-4 thru the 1st half, and the pack play the lions twice in the 2nd half, so I am guessing you are predicting playoffs in Brett’s final year. detroitlions.contentquake.com

How is AJ Hawk looking this year?

I think Hawk, Barnett, and Poppinga are going to be the rocks of the defense this year. They are all solid players and have had great training camps.

I am sick and tired of you morons saying that there is no emotion at the Gold Package Games. I go to both GP games, as well as 2 other games each year, and I think the GP ticket holders are much more into the games than the regular season ticket holders. Both the tailgating and the game itself has more energy than the other games, probably due to the regular season ticket holders taking for granted what they have had for years. BTW, your predictions f’n suck.
