So it’s the morning after the Colts stomped the Saints, and it’s also day two of my predictions for the Packers Regular season. After 8 games the Pack find themselves at 4-4 with a few supposed softballs coming up so everyone should be feeling pretty good by this point.
Week 10
Packers - 24 Vikings 17
The Pack will come out a bit slow, and allow the Vikings to jump out to a quick 14-0 lead. At Halftime the score will be 14-3, and people will wonder how this Packers team made it to .500. The Packers take the opening kickoff of the second half and drive 84 yards culminating in a 5 yard TD run by Morency. Favre will throw two more TDs to Donald Driver to give the Packers another win under their belts.
Week 11
Packers - 10 Panthers - 13
Rain and 40 degree temps slog down the passing attack of Favre and company, and a second ankle tweak for Morency stop the Pack dead as the Panthers win a rare game this season. The defense records 8 sacks, but can’t come up with the big plays to help the struggling offense. Brandon Jackson scores the Packers only touchdown in the 3rd quarter on a 43 yard screen pass from Favre.
Week 12
Packers - 31 Lions - 45
Ahh Thanksgiving, the one day every year the Lions are guaranteed to play their butts off. It shows as The Pack gets dominated at Ford Field by the young receivers of the Lions. Favre has a good game as well as Jennings, hooking up 12 times for 136 yards and 3 TDs. Jackson also runs for 102 and a TD, but it isn’t enough to overcome the early mistakes and the 21 point deficit in the first quarter.
Week 13
Packers - 14 Cowboys - 24
Quarterback Tony Romo hooks up with his newest favorite receiver Sam Hurd for 2 touchdowns, and Julius Jones runs for another as the Cowboys hand the Packers their third loss in a row. Despite another solid performance from Brandon Jackson, the passing game never got on track. In the postgame press conference, Brett Favre reminds everyone that for the most part they are a young team and will have off days. Fans begin to call for the benching of Favre and the firing of McCarthy with renewed vigor.
Week 14
Packers - 42 Raiders - 10
The softball the Packers need couldn’t come at a better time. Favre throws 4 TDs and connects with 9 different receivers on his way to a 380 yard performance. Brandon Jackson gets the start and rushes for 142 yards and 2 more scores. The Raiders look like a deer in headlights after the Pack score on the opening drive of the game, then on the next play from scrimmage return an interception for a TD. The following drive results in another touchdown and 8 minutes into the game the Packers lead 21-0 and the Raiders have 0 offesive yards. The domination continues, and the raiders only score in the fourth quarter comes on two late drives against the second string Packer defense.
Week 15
Packers - 17 Rams - 28
The Packers travel to St Louis to take on the Rams with a big win under their belts. The high from the previous week is quickly killed as the Rams offense takes over the game. Favre throws 5 interceptions and is sacked 4 times, and the only saving grace is the now one-two punch of Vernand Morency and Brandon Jackson combining for nearly 200 yards of rushing offense and both Packer touchdowns.
Week 16
Packers - 27 Bears - 10
Two days before Christmas, in the snow and wind of Soldier Field, the Packers manage a win against the bears on the strength of the newly respected running game. Morency rushes for 178 yards and two touchdowns, and Brandon Jackson for another 78 yard and a TD. Rex Grossman is again dominated by the Packers defense, and throws 4 interceptions. Aaron Kampman tallies 5 sacks and brings himself into the sack lead in the NFL.
Week 17
Packers - 24 Lions - 3
Apparently the gears on the Lions offensive machine freeze up in late December in Green Bay. The passing game for the Lions goes nowhere, and the running game shots itself in the foot with 4 fumbles. This week is Brandon Jackson’s turn to shine as he rushes for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns. Favre throws for 210 yards and a touchdown(also to Jackson), as the Packers end the regular season on a high note.
So there you have it, I predict another 8 - 8 season for Green Bay, firmly placing them in mediocrity for another year. As was the case last year, the final game of the season will be needed to determine whether or not they make the playoffs, but I think they will just miss the boat again.

I agree…with the mediocrity. If the packers make it to the playoffs, I’ll fall off my chair. They have been stuck in a rut for so long. Favre is only playing this season, to try and break some records…why should he care if they win? He gets his name on the records either way.
Kurt, Lions have not fared well recently on Thanksgiving. Joey Harrington had a career day against them last year. Of course the last 6 years they haven’t fared well on any game day. Very good creative post. detroitlions.contentquake.com
Wow! I am shocked Kurt at how close you were on the outcome of game one it even ended with a field goal! are you psychic or what….
